Our Date

We enjoyed our anniversary date today. My parents watched Ada for a few hours in the late afternoon, and we decided to head to a new coffee shop downtown. Thing is, when we got there, we realized it was closed for the Labor Day holiday. So was pretty much every other place we tried to go at 3pm on a Sunday afternoon. Boo.

We were defeated to say the least. Then I remembered this place my friends have been telling me about that's a half an hour or so out of town. A man-made lake -- which I'm ever-too familiar with being from Pennsylvania, which has like zero lakes -- with gorgeous trails and wooded areas. Perfect!

As we drove, we realized we were trekking the farthest we've ever been from Ada. Sort of silly now that she's almost 10 months old and we were only 20 or so miles out. Anyway, it was worth the trip, but we definitely want to go back again soon with the whole family.
