Wednesday Stuff

>> 7.11.2012

#1: It's been a rough couple of days week. My mind isn't what it usually is, so I don't remember if I've already mention how Ada stopped napping over the weekend. She was a super, duper crank. Stephen and I were were (are) exhausted from keeping her out of stuff.

Thankfully, the naps are back, with some help . . . but she's gotten in this habit of waking in the middle of the night. Like c.o.m.p.l.e.t.e.l.y waking. I know this is painfully typical for an 8- to 10-month-old, so I'm not really complaining. I'm just, well, tired!

Today has been a bit better, so far she's gone down to bed relatively easily. And we had a great afternoon swing nap!

Thank goodness for the swing -- whatever works, we'll do at this point. We pulled the long-retired contraption out of the basement a couple days ago. Definitely worth the large living room footprint.

I occasionally read back through my 0-3 Month Must-Haves and 3-6 Month Must-Haves and find edits. Good thing I'll be writing another installment soon!

#2: Summer with Stephen home has been much like I expected. Low key. Relaxing. Productive. Today we spent a couple hours (finally) cleaning our covered patio.

a.) We sprayed everything: chairs, floor, house siding. But our cushions just didn't clean up. Anyone know any secrets for that? b.) We are both shoe-hoarders. We keep our athletic ones outdoors, but we've had to limit ourselves to a few pairs each. This photo might be boring, but it thrills me! c.) We don't have a garage. Our basement is cat-territory at night, and we know Rivey likes to bite tires from previous experiences. So, our BOB is locked up on the patio. I hate keeping it out there, but we have no other options! d.) Gathering camping gear that was in the shed for our big trip/music festival next week. Consider me excited and terrified at the same time.

#3: For the first time -- EVER -- I am happy with my new glasses! Usually I feel pretty self-conscious and unattractive without my contacts. But 8 months after giving birth, and I'm still not able to wear my contacts on a regular basis.

#4: And Ada loves her first flower headband. If you haven't noticed, I'm not entirely into girly baby stuff. Some bows and pink here and there.

But for this, pigs must be flying!

#5: Sweet ending to this post: Beyond delicious: Ben and Jerry's Frozen Greek Yogurt in Raspberry Fudge Chunk.

Tomorrow on (never home)maker I have a review of Boudreaux's Butt Paste scheduled. And on this site, we'll be chatting about more organic grocery stuff. Should be good! I've loved reading all your thoughtful comments on the matter.
